CREATIVE CHALLENGE
Creating an interactive experience for XP Expert 2019 — the world’s largest investment event — to teach visitors about how to invest in variable-income securities.
GUIDELINES
Developing educational content that included the rules and the way variable-income securities work, on the Mini Índice and Petr4 platforms, based on Bull Trades (XP’s new trade platform).
PROBLEM DETECTED
Brazilians are skeptical of variable-income securities because they are afraid, because they feel financially insecure, and because most are lay when it comes to finance. Therefore, the invitation to learn had to be attractive, simple, and game-like.
DEVELOPMENT
We set up a space at the event venue that could hold up to 12 people. All participants were handed a tablet when they walked in. Next a multiplayer game would start, with a real-time map projection and score being displayed, and players had to find out how variable-income trading effectively works.
The game lasted 7 minutes. All decisions were based on what was going on at each hour/minute, and the news affected the price of the fictional shares being traded in the game.
TECHNOLOGIES USED
NativeScript, NodeJS, Socket, touchdesigner, and Python.
RESULTS
Combining all these technologies together resulted in an aesthetically pleasing, high-performance piece of work that delivered the expected experience. A total of 1,771 people took part in it during the three days of XP Expert 2019.
