Faber-Castell makes over 2 billion pencils every year, and is one of the world’s largest office supply companies. Applying the principle of social responsibility towards business partners and the community, and prioritizing the continuous search for ecological processes and materials that contribute to the conservation of the planet, Faber-Castell put out a line of eco-friendly pencils made of 100% reforested wood. To advertise the product, the company launched an app called “Endless Forest,” created by David agency and developed by VZLab.
Create an app that could educate children on reforesting and advertise Faber-Castell’s eco-friendly pencils. To achieve the educate part of the task, we realized it had to be interactive for children, encouraging them to paint and draw. However, how could we have people use a mobile app to do manual activities?
We created an app that turned colored pencils into animated animals from Brazilian forests and displayed information about those animals for the children to see. Furthermore, with the app children can download and color drawings of their animals, who are given life again via the magic of RA. 700,000 downloads in 3 months, 76 million impressions, 18 million views. 4.5 million engagements and tons of shareable content. Awards in Cannes, NY Festival, and Ad&D.
